Chapter 20 - Afternoon Luncheon

Honey called and said that it was time for a late lunch a little while later. I got dressed and headed downstairs.

The table for lunch was set for six. Everything was already prepared and no ‘servers’ need to be present. The girls were all dressed in similarly styled, but not identical dresses. Two new colors had been added. In addition to the Green, Yellow, and Pink that Honey had already established, Rhonda wore black, and Ruby wore white. They all looked fabulous.

We started lunch and I asked innocently, “So, what’s new with everyone?”

Everybody laughed. Someone said, “What isn’t?” Another said, “My whole life – my whole world has changed even just counting what has happened today!”

Ruby looked down at her plate, and then got up her courage, and looked up and announced, “I have a new boyfriend!”

Elsie said, “What?”

Ruby said, “Yeah, um, anyway, this is nice, I never had lunch with everyone before. I just hung out with Rhonda and Rosalind before. This is really nice. I like it. I guess we get to do this more now, huh? Anyway, yeah, I have a new boyfriend.”

Honey said, “Oh Ruby! I’m so excited for you! Um, sweetie, I hope this doesn’t embarrass you to talk about this in front of everybody, but it’s just us girls, and of course, Mr. Jensen, and you don’t have to say anything if you don’t want to, but I would really like to know: have you slept with your new boyfriend yet?”

Honey knew that she had sent Ruby up to our suite and had told her to climb into bed with me if she wanted to, but she hadn’t heard anything about what had actually happened.

Ruby said excitedly, “Oh, no Miss. He is a perfect gentleman. He is very mature and knows just what to say to make me feel special. He never forces me to do anything! Besides, before I have sex, I have to have a ceremony with a ring and vows, right? Otherwise, it would just be awful!”

Ruby got quiet and continued, saying, “I’m afraid that might never happen for me though. It can’t.”

Then she brightened up and said hopefully, “But for now, it’s so wonderful that I could pop!”

Honey asked, “Ruby, dear, do you love him? Really really really?”

Ruby said, “Oh Miss, I do. Oh yes, I do. When I think about it, I think I’m going to die! I mean, I just met him recently, but I have known who he was for just years and I was always kind of was attracted to him, but he just kissed me for the first time very recently. And the second time he kissed me, wow! I knew I would never be the same. But then I get sad because I know it can’t work out in the long run.”

Rhonda grabbed Ruby’s hand and said, “But it can Ruby! Mrs. Jensen is magical. She can do anything! If you want it bad enough, really really really, like she said, she can make it happen for you! Can’t you Mrs.
